I hear a live-band looseness in the percussion that deep house often sterilises, and the 1A key keeps everything draped in a smoky, minor-key melancholia that makes the groove feel earned rather than imposed.

For me, this is a club record first and foremost: the kind of track I drop when the floor is ready to ascend but still craves texture over fireworks.
