Stolen Light (Biesmans Remix)

The Ninja · 7.9/10

Biesmans keeps the 128-BPM grid taut, but I keep getting pulled under by these neon-bright analogue pads that ache in all the right places. The energy rarely lets up—this is a nine-out-of-ten surge—yet instead of blunt force, the remix channels that voltage into a minor-key narrative that feels more like a 3 a.m. confession than a peak-time assault. I can feel every bar expanding the room, stretching walls with reverb and delayed stabs.

I would drop this in that tricky post-midnight slot where the floor still wants drive but craves sentiment. Coming in after something tougher, the 5A tonality settles like smoke, and the melodic house framework gives dancers a reason to stay locked in. To my ears, NiteLite has a cut that does exactly what a remix should: reframe the original without losing the plot.
