I hear tautness in the programming, every hi-hat and sub-bass plunge calibrated to sustain tension across the slower gait.

In my sets, it occupies that precarious after-hours corridor where the floor is too wired for ambient but too raw for hands-in-the-air anthems. The key of 11A gives the low-end a shadowy, focused colour that slots perfectly beneath more melodic fare, making it an ideal bridge record. It is functional, yes, but executed with enough grit to justify its place in my rotation.
