At 130 BPM, this should thud, yet the energy metre barely flinches at four, so I hear the pulse as a bruised heartbeat rather than a command. I watch Four Tet let feedback bleed across the grid in raw, live ribbons, sculpting a minor-key tension that prioritises texture over torque. To my ears, it is experimental in the truest sense: the club architecture is there, but the walls are scorched.

I’d slot this where a set needs propulsion without pyrotechnics—an early-hours bridge or a comedown cushion that still insists on movement. The Alexandra Palace air hangs thick in the recording, giving the track a room-specific smoulder that studio polish would kill. It does not beg for the floor; it haunts it.
