I Feel Better

The Ninja · 8.1/10

The low-end rolls at a steady 120 BPM, but it is the tension between that restrained tempo and the sheer nine-out-of-ten voltage that makes this feel dangerous. Locked in G minor, the pads are bruised rather than blissful, and every hi-hat flicker lands like a deliberate cut rather than decoration; the sound design is too warped, too deliberately off-kilter, to sit comfortably in polite deep house.

This is a peak-time leftfield weapon disguised as a groove track: I would slam it in when the room is already sweating, letting that energy 9 pressure rattle the rafters before pulling back. It builds a claustrophobic, neon-lit room where the walls sweat analogue grit, and at this BPM it bridges techno urgency and house swing without committing to either camp.
