The Schulz Audio remix lands at a deceptively calm 118, yet its energy is cranked to the absolute ceiling, turning A minor into a cavernous, echo-drenched pressure chamber. I hear the rhythm as a relentless, forward-thrusting piston wrapped in dub techno’s trademark smeared chords and reverb tails; every kick lands with the wet thud of a door sealing shut behind me. It is less a groove than a slow suffocation, hypnotic and claustrophobic.
I’d reach for this when the floor is already locked in and I want to maintain peak intensity without accelerating the tempo. It sits beautifully in the deeper, darker hours, bridging rolling hypnotic techno and dub’s spatial politics. The mix swallows the room whole, and I’m convinced that Superordinate Dub Waves still understands how atmosphere can function as pure, unrelenting force.
