I keep returning to the way the pulse locks at one hundred and twenty-five, brisk without ever tipping into frenzy, riding a taut sub-bass current through the minor-key gloom of 3A. The synthesisers are bright and cleanly arranged, leaving scant air between the kick drum and the melodic top-line; everything is geared toward a continuous forward glide that feels more inevitable than urgent.

With energy dialled to ten, it fills a room more through precision than brute force, and I would slot it comfortably into the early-evening shift while the floor is still gathering its numbers. There is little mystery in its architecture, only a well-oiled machine of groove and melancholy that does precisely what it promises and then politely steps aside.
