When I pitch this down to one-oh-seven, the room doesn’t relax; it sinks. Jochem Hamerling has carved deep house into a slower, heavier mould without sacrificing that relentless nine-out-of-ten pressure. The kick still lands with peak-time heft, but the tempo leaves space for shadows to pool between each beat. I hear the tension in the minor-key hardware, a brooding 8A melancholy that seeps through the pads rather than shouting for attention.

I keep this in my bag for that fragile transition where the floor is loose but not lost, letting La Guardería’s leftfield bias meet a genuine emotional arc. The atmosphere is thick enough to touch, yet the groove never wallows; it simply demands a different kind of movement, heavy-headed and hips-locked, perfect for my ambient-slash-leftfield brief.
