Take A Trip

The Ninja · 8.7/10

I keep coming back to the way Alinka locks the floor at a steady 128 BPM in the key of 7B, letting that maximum energy rating manifest as a coiled, kinetic spring rather than blunt force. The Correspondant pedigree is audible in every surgical hi-hat and rogue synth squiggle; to my ears, this is leftfield house with a backbone, teasing euphoria without ever dropping into obvious hands-in-the-air territory.

For my money, it is the sort of record that sounds equally devastating at peak time or during those stubborn after-hours moments when the crowd refuses to leave. The 7B tonality keeps the pressure luminous, and that relentless ten-out-of-ten momentum means I cannot drift off mid-mix. I would drop it when I need to remind the room that sophistication and brute force are not mutually exclusive.
