The Ninja · 8.1/10

At one hundred and five bpm, "Bells" refuses to hurry, yet its energy level of nine means there is no slack in the rope. The groove rolls low and heavy with an organic warmth, more subterranean pulse than dancefloor sprint, Lorikeet carving space around G minor foundations that feel closer to ritual than recreation. Each percussive landing is deliberate, the deep techno framework absorbing tension rather than releasing it in bursts.

This is a record for the dead-hour, when the room has thinned and the system can breathe. I would slot it after midnight in a leftfield programme, letting its hypnotic density rewire the floor’s expectations of tempo. It does not ask for hands; it demands a slow, locked sway. Talpa Records has delivered a track that proves speed is irrelevant when the weight is this convincing.
