The Ninja on this record
At one hundred and twenty-five BPM in 7A, the track presses forward with an urgency that belies its deep-house frame, locking a steady kick against filtered keys that seem to search for space in the mix. The energy is pitched to the ceiling, yet the groove retains a human warmth, as if the machine pulse were being gently tugged by something recognisably soulful.
In a set, this belongs to the moment when the floor is already committed and the DJ wants to sustain momentum without resorting to obvious theatrics. It is the kind of record that fills a room through precision rather than volume, sitting comfortably between Metro Area-esque melodic discipline and the looser swing of modern deep house.
