I keep returning to the way DJ Python lets this one unspool at 113 bpm, that patient, almost vertiginous roll of low-end thrum in Db major refusing to rush its climax. The energy is fierce but channelled inward; taut, syncopated drums and spectral pads create a humid pressure cooker rather than a hands-in-the-air anthem. It is deep house refracted through melancholy forward motion, every percussive flicker landing with deliberate, hooky intention.
In my sets, I would slot this where the room is damp with anticipation, bridging warmer warm-up records and the peak-time assault. You can feel the floor lock into its sway, the 3B key lending an unexpected brightness to the subs as they bloom beneath the smoke. Craigie Knowes has a winner here: club-credible, yes, but with a singular identity that nudges the conversation forward rather than simply soundtracking it.
