The Ninja on this record
The drums land at 122 with a firm, walking gait, and the A minor framework gives the harmony a nocturnal slant. The surface is warm and jazzy, but the energy is assertive, pushing the low end forward while leaving just enough room for the melodic lines to curl overhead. Every element breathes within a compact, well-defined space.
It belongs in the later hours, where its forward motion can link deeper passages to more driving material without jarring the room. There is patience in the arrangement, yet the track never idles; it keeps pressure on the floor while maintaining the understated sophistication of after-hours house. A useful bridge with real personality.
